DECISION 2026: BE READY TO VOTE - COMMUNITY EVENT

Invite your friends and neighbors to join you for this nonpartisan voter education event on Saturday, October 10. Learn how to confirm your voter registration information and where you can vote for the November 2026 election. Learn about the state, county and municipal issues on the November ballot, and ways to educate yourself further about each issue. Decision 2026 is co-presented by the Christ Church Anti-Racism Task Force and the League of Women Voters of Broward, a nonpartisan organization supporting voter rights. The United Methodist Church affirms the right to vote as a basic human right for adult citizens. Mark your calendar now for this important morning to prepare to exercise your rights.

LAY SERVANT TRAINING

United Methodists from across the South East District are invited to take part in Lay Servant training that will be offered Saturday, October 24, 7:30am-6pm, in Fellowship Halls 2-4. Three courses will be offered: the Lay Servant Ministry Basic Course; Living Our Beliefs: The United Methodist Way, a lay speaker course; and The Spirit and Art of Conflict Transformation. The Basic Course, designed to equip new church leaders and renew current leaders, is the foundation for other leadership training. It covers leadership, caring and communication. October is Pastor Appreciation Month, when we recognize the spiritual leadership and pastoral care we receive all year 'round from our clergy. Please feel free to express your gratitude to Pastor Jad and Pastor Monique throughout the month. Outside each service, you'll find cards you can write on and boxes to place the cards in. Then, on Sunday, November 1, we'll gather in Fellowship Halls 2-4 for a reception after each worship service to celebrate their dedication. The Staff Parish Relations Committee will host the receptions.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS SERVICE

Everyone is invited to bring a friend or neighbor and pets to the Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, November 8 , on the lawn between the sanctuary and the Fellowship Halls. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, if you like. All pets should be leashed or safely in carriers. We'll sing worship songs and have a message before the pastors bless our animal friends. You can also bring a stuffed animal or picture of a special animal to be blessed. This is a special time of invitation to our community and acknowledgement of God's creation.

The Parkway community breakfast is prepared in the Fort Lauderdale kitchen early Sunday morning. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together, wrapping and heating breakfast sandwiches. Students can earn service hours with preparation. Contact Pastor Peytyn Tobin if you or your family or group might be able to help.

Where can you catch up with a friend? And grab a cup of coffee? Holy Grounds. Meet your friends before and after the 9am service and before the 11am service. Coffee will be ready about 8:45am, so you can meet your friends at the kitchen window and take your brew to worship. If you're worshiping at 11am, come early to see your friends at Holy Grounds.

Serve the weekly shared meals on Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm. Volunteers are needed to wrap silverware, set tables, make tea, other prep work, to serve, greet and wash dishes.

Serve Parkway's weekly breakfast, 9-10am, and then share a meal with our guests. All people hungry for food and/or community are invited to sit down together. Volunteers can help with preparations and clean up.
